Data Sharing & Transparency

1.1 Data Availability Policy

Kmed Journal strongly encourages authors to make the data underlying their research findings openly available wherever possible. This facilitates reproducibility, enables validation of results, and maximises the value of research.

All manuscripts must include a Data Availability Statement indicating how the data can be accessed. Acceptable data availability statements include:

  • Publicly available: "Data are available in a public repository at [repository name and DOI/URL]."
  • Available on request: "Data are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request."
  • Restricted access: "Data cannot be shared publicly due to [patient privacy/ethical restrictions/commercial sensitivity]. Data are available from [institution/data access committee] for researchers who meet criteria for access."
  • Data included: "All data are included in the manuscript and supplementary files."

1.2 Recommended Data Repositories

Authors are encouraged to deposit data in recognised public repositories such as:

  • General repositories: Figshare, Dryad, Zenodo, Open Science Framework
  • Genomic data: GenBank, European Nucleotide Archive, DDBJ
  • Proteomic data: PRIDE, ProteomeXchange
  • Structural data: Protein Data Bank, Cambridge Structural Database
  • Clinical trial data: ClinicalTrials.gov, EudraCT

Datasets should be assigned a DOI or persistent identifier where possible.

1.3 Code and Software Availability

Custom code, scripts, and software developed for the research should be made available via public repositories (e.g., GitHub, Bitbucket, GitLab) with a permanent identifier. If commercial restrictions prevent full code release, authors should describe how interested researchers can obtain access.

1.4 Materials Availability

Authors should make reasonable efforts to provide research materials (cell lines, reagents, animal models, etc.) to qualified researchers upon request, subject to material transfer agreements where necessary. Manuscripts should include a statement on materials availability.

Note: These policies are subject to periodic review and update. Authors, reviewers, and readers should check this page for the most current version. Material changes to policies will be announced via the journal website and communicated to registered users. For questions or clarifications about any policy, please contact the editorial office at support@kmedjournals.com.
